REPS: character for young athletes
One-on-one coaching with Hugo, ages 14 and up. Eight sessions on character on and off the field, and the traps waiting for young athletes today: the feed, the shortcut, the bet, the scam, and the first check.
Represent, Earn, Protect, Stay true
The eight sessions
- Week 1
Who You Are Without the Jersey
Your sport is something you do, not all of who you are. You name what you stand for, so it holds after a loss, a bad season, or the last game.
They keepMy standard, in one sentence
- Week 2
Your Feed Represents You
Coaches, schools, and sponsors can see what you post, share, and say in the comments. You audit your own accounts and set a rule for what goes up from here.
They keepThe 10-second post check
- Week 3
Truth When It Costs You
Telling the truth is easy when it's free. You practice owning a mistake out loud, early, before someone else tells the story for you.
They keepOwn it in three sentences
- Week 4
No Shortcuts
A supplement that promises size. A bet, even on a pro game. You learn how either one can cost a college athlete their eligibility, and how to say no without losing the room.
They keepCheck before you take it
- Week 5
Protect Your Name
Fake offers, texts asking for your verification code, and people who turn a photo into a threat. You learn the warning signs and the plan if it happens: it's not your fault, don't pay, keep the messages, tell an adult you trust, and report it.
They keepMy if-this-happens plan
- Week 6
Protect Your Money
The first real check goes faster than anyone expects. You split one on paper, taxes first (gear and gift cards from a deal generally count as income too), then saving, then spending, and practice saying no to the people who show up asking.
They keepThe first-check split
- Week 7
Make It Last
The earlier money is invested, the longer it can grow. You see how compound growth works, look honestly at the odds of playing pro, and build a plan that doesn't depend on it.
They keepMy make-it-last plan
- Week 8
Stay True: Your Circle
Agents, advisers, new friends. You learn the questions to ask before anyone handles your name or your money, pick the adults you trust, and leave with a written plan.
They keepMy REPS game plan
